EDUCATION
Prof. Dr. Lehmann studied human medicine in Cologne, Bonn and Paris from 1996 to 2002.
In 2003, he completed his experimental thesis on T-cell immunity to foreign antigens in multiple sclerosis at the University of Bonn. He then underwent clinical training at the Neurological Clinic of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. In 2004, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, and continued his clinical training in Düsseldorf from 2005.
EXPERIENCE
In 2007, he received a fellowship from the Peripheral Nerve Society. Since January 2008, Dr. Lehmann has been working in the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, as a member of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
AREAS OF INTEREST
Prof. Lehmann is focused on neuromuscular diseases stroke, multiple sclerosis, neurophysiology (EMG, NCS, EEG), neurological intensive care medecine. He is head of a scientific research group with focus on axonal regeneration and neuroinflammation.
RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Prof. Lehmann has authored over 100 publications and books. Most of Prof. Lehmann’s research and publications focus on neuromuscular diseases.
