EDUCATION
Prof. Carbone trained in Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru, and in Clinical Immunology in Spain, the UK and US. He is an expert in different immunological diseases, including primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, repeat abortions and autoimmune diseases.
EXPERIENCE
Prof. Carbone has been consultant clinical immunologist at the Clinical Immunology Department at HGUGM since 1998. He is Associate Professor at the Immunology Department and academic coordinator of cancer immunotherapy and other immune-based diseases at the Complutense University Medicine Faculty (Madrid). He is a member of the Transplant Committee at the HGUGM; member of the Infectious Diseases Committee at the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (USA); member of the committee for the safety of patients at the Community of Madrid; and member of the Technical Committee of the Strategic Plan for Immunology at the Community (Madrid). Since 2005 he has been principal investigator at the Clinical Immunology Department, HGUGM.
AREAS OF INTEREST
Prof. Carbone’s major research interest focuses on transplant immunology, primary and secondary immunodeficiency, reproductive immunology and autoimmune diseases.
RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Prof. Carbone has authored over 500 research papers, including indexed publications (JCR, factor H=18, orcid.org/0000-0003-2056-0534), non indexed publications and communications at congresses in distinct areas of clinical immunology.
